War Artists and their Depictions of War

In Britain official schemes were established for artists to record both the First and Second World Wars. This below is a piece by Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson which depicts war in quite a dark gloomy way with these sharp dark tones.

This pieces below by Paul Nash and Sir William Orpen portray war in a completely different light. These paintings below seem quite peaceful, showing the aftermath of war rather than the heat of the battle.

The depictions of the British army is something that interests me particularly how it is glamourised.
